You would not expect your car to function well If you did not put the right fuel into the engine, so why would you put the wrong fuel into your own body and expect it to function properly ??
People spend a lot of money and time in order to look good and feel good, but what about your insides ??
The food we eat affects not only our digestion but also our state of mind and emotions. A Bad Diet and bad eating habits will slowly start to deteriorate your organs, then eventually the outside will start to show signs of aging or disease.
Nourish your body correctly and do not go for quick wacky ways of losing weight or looking good, otherwise your battle will continue.
Always remember, your body is your temple, and the most important vehicle you will EVER have to move around and LIVE IN during this life on earth. Fortunately, whatever you have done with your body over the years, it is very forgiving and WILL become better with your better management of it.
A bowl of cornflakes…a piece of toast with butter…a bagel with cream cheese…a cup of coffee or tea. You probably start your day with at least one of these breakfast staples. DINNER TIME – how many Families do you know who will all sit down at the dinner table “together” to enjoy a cooked evening meal…. and when they do, how many do so without the TV going ?? -or- the Mobile Phone; eating while constantly sending messages to their friends. In restaurants you will see people constantly using their Phones, isolating themselves from the rest of the diners at the table.
Chewing your food positively and giving your stomach time to process the food correctly is of major importance.
What kind of eating habits are our children developing; 
If you are wondering how we can create healthy food habits, not only for ourselves but also for our children.
Many of us are conditioned to eat our meals at set times of the day. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, we could deepen our awareness of the frequency and amount of food we eat. Some heavier meals such as meat, take longer to be digested than others, but we are not always sensitive to this.
Food should be eaten only when previous food has been fully digested, no sooner than three hours after the previous meal, no later than six. This is so the digestive system in the body will be at its strongest during eating.
Digestion is one of three processes by which food becomes part of our body. Through digestion, the food we eat is softened and broken down into a form that is soluble. The most important factor in proper digestion is whether or not food has been properly alkalized before it reaches the stomach. This can be achieved partly through proper chewing, which releases the appropriate digestive juices in the stomach, duodenum and small intestine, but also through eating with awareness.
Make the family dinners a time of pleasant conversation and sharing of moments. Have you noticed the speed with which you eat when you are in a quiet and peaceful environment. Eating slowly brings more harmony into our lives, but be aware that eating should not be a long, drawn out affair either. Eating too quickly creates restlessness in our body and mind. If we can increase the quality of awareness we give to eating, digestion naturally becomes much smoother and stronger.
Place yourself in your children’s shoes – if you are able to do so – then teaching them the right habits will not be a problem at all. Children pick up most of the habits at home, seeing and following you – “Monkey see Monkey do” Therefore, set the right example.
Food is not just nourishment for the body; it is medicine for the body, mind and spirit. 
It is vital that your meal has been digested properly before you do anything else. One of the reasons why eating properly at a table is important, and allowing yourself time to chew your food properly is that it gives your body a chance to metabolize the food, and the important nutrients from the food can then be absorbed properly so you’re body can utilize them properly.
When you eat, it takes time for nerves in the upper digestive tract to signal the hunger center in the hypothalamus to temporarily “turn off”. It takes time for the body to recognize that you have eaten and for the feeling of hunger to go away.
Eating too quickly may cause you to eat more food over the same period of time as eating slowing and allowing your body to feel “full”. Because food is medicine for your body, eating too much destroys this healing opportunity, similarly, eating too little affects our appetite adversely, diminishing and weakening our digestive system.
If you need to reduce the amount of food you eat, do so gradually, giving your body time to adjust to the changes.
Giving your body foods that will benefit you and also taste good is not hard, and is not as time consuming as we make it out to be. Basically we have become lazy, as there is so much out there today;
pre packaged, pre cooked, fast food and take away shops, we don’t have to do anything to prepare our food any more. However, we do eventually pay the price for not taking the time to prepare our own meals.
If your body does not get the nutrients it needs from the food you are giving it, then your body will keep telling you it is hungry. Not only that, your health gradually deteriorates, and you look older than you really are. Other factors come into play :
- If you eat your food whilst engaging in activity, (walking, driving, working),
- Eating whilst having a heated argument/discussion or
- concentrating on external entertainment such as the TV whilst eating,
- Drinking anything whilst eating
your digestive system can not function properly, partly because throughout all these activities the eating, munching and chewing is not processed enough, and therefore in the rush to get the food down, the food is swallowed in too larger lumps for the stomach to easily digest.
This is a big one – DRINKING WHILST EATING – Drinking of any type of fluid during a meal, be it water, alcohol, coffee or tea, interferes with the body’s digestion process.
The gastric juices can not work properly with the food which has been mixed with the fluid. Liquids cause food to pass into the bloodstream before it has been sufficiently digested. Drink either 20 minutes before or after the meal, not with the meal.

THE MICROWAVE
So you have heard the Microwave is NOT GOOD for your food… BUT what the heck, I just need to quickly heat this snack up, and the food I am putting into the microwave is ‘healthy’ – WRONG, it was healthy until you put it into the microwave.
Today the Microwave has taken over in most households to be the most efficient way of ‘getting the food heated fast’, not “preparing a meal” How times have changed and how so many people are sick and dying. Are you one of these people ???

Below is a project presented by a secondary school girl in Sussex WATER and MICROWAVES .
She took filtered water and divided it into two parts. The first part she heated to boiling in a pan on the stove, and the second part she heated to boiling in a microwave. After cooling she used the water on two identical plants to see if there would be any difference in the growth between the normal boiled water and the water boiled in a microwave.
She felt that the structure or energy of the water may be compromised by the microwave. As it turned out, even she was amazed at the difference, which was later repeated by her class mates a number of times and had the same result.
It has been known for some years that the problem with microwaved anything is not just the radiation, which people used to worry about, but how it corrupts the DNA in the food so the body can not recognize it.
Microwaves don’t work in different ways on different substances. Whatever you put into the microwave suffers the same destructive process.
Microwaves agitate the molecules to move faster and faster. This movement causes friction which denatures the original make-up of the substance. It results in destroyed vitamins, minerals, proteins and generates the new stuff called radiolytic compounds, things that are not found in nature. These are mutations that are unknown in the natural world.
