Potent Probiotics

PROFOUND HEALTH BENEFITS FROM BENEFICIAL BUGS

The old maxim “We are what we eat” should really read “We are what we absorb!” The host of nutrient supplements lining the chemist shop walls are of limited benefit if we have damaged the ‘microbe bridge’ that facilitates their uptake. Similarly, the best and most balanced diet will not deliver optimum nutrition in the absence of these microbe helpers.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has recently completed an exhaustive study of the nutritional link to disease and a key finding of this research was the identification of a second type of malnutrition.

Many of the third world populations suffer from Type A malnutrition, but the WHO research suggests that the majority of the populations in developed countries suffer from Type B malnutrition where serious mineral, vitamin and amino acid deficiencies compromise health and disease resistance.
How can we possibly be lacking nutrients when over 60% of Australians are now considered obese? Part of the deficit relates to demineralised food grown on demineralised soils, but the devastation of beneficial gut organisms is of equal significance.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE
GOOD BUGS GONE?
Nutri-Tech Solutions Pty Ltd (NTS) have recently begun in-depth research into human nutrition and the links to health and wellbeing. Part of this research has involved comprehensive health analysis, monitoring all key nutrients and evaluating criteria like digestive function, hormone balance, fatty acid balance and immune system performance.

Like WHO, we have found virtually all subjects to be nutrient deficient. The mineral shortages, which appear almost universal, are magnesium, chromium, selenium, cobalt, iodine, silica and zinc.

The chief vitamin deficits involve the B group. Around 90% of subjects are lacking Vitamin B2 and B12, but there are numerous subjects lacking Vitamin B5 and/or Vitamin B6.

Glutathione is the major missing link in the amino acid profile. The nutritional analysis utilised also covers measurement of beneficial gut organisms and it is here that the horror stories really begin. The vast majority of us suffer screaming deficiencies of these critical creatures and this is a health crisis which has not really been recognised. Where is this beneficial microflora? Where have all the good bugs gone?

Gut life is assaulted on all fronts in our modern life style and digestive difficulties are invariably linked to the loss of these tiny troops.   Many people are aware of the indiscriminate microbe-killing action of antibiotics and the associated need to repopulate following the completion of a course of this drug. However, there is less understanding of other hazards that impact on our digestive capacity.

The food stabilisers, for example, which ‘protect’ the processed food on the supermarket shelves, are microbicides and it would be naive to assume that this ‘stabilising’ function ceased when the food enters our stomach. In reality, the beneficial gut organisms can be as susceptible to these additives as the food spoiling bacteria that are targeted.

Prescription drugs can impact on the trillions of digestive organisms that should inhabit and protect the gut system.

“The food stabilisers, for example, which ‘protect’ the processed food on the supermarket shelves, are microbicides and it would be naive to assume that this ‘stabilising’ function ceased when the food enters our stomach.”

Cortisone and other steroid-based preparations are particularly destructive, but many pain killers and anti-inflammatories also disrupt gut flora.

Oral contraceptives are bug killers and radiation from x-rays, computer screens and microwaves is also harmful.
Coffee and alcohol can be damaging if consumed at rates exceeding three servings per day. A can of cola (pH 2.9) contains around thirteen teaspoons of sugar and sufficient phosphoric acid stabiliser to ward away the bacteria which would normally seek out this sugar lode. This super-acidic, caffeine-based beverage is a microbiological bomb with few peers.

Chlorine is added to our water supply to kill bacteria. Why would it stop working when it has entered our mouth?

Fluoride is also a microbicide as are many of the thousands of chemical additives in food, cleaning products, plastics and cosmetics.
Stress compromises gut flora and there is no shortage of this negative influence in contemporary life.
Agricultural chemicals can destroy the gut flora of those who apply them and any residues of these toxins can have a similar effect on consumers of treated produce.

Heavy metal accumulations in the body are almost inevitable in our toxic society and the negative influence of these poisons increases with age. Lead, mercury and aluminium overloads are typical problems, but recently nickel has emerged as a major biocide in the soil and in the human body.

The problem in terms of both soil and human health is that beneficial microbes are the most effective tool to detoxify heavy metal excesses, but the casualty rates are very high during the detox process. The solution to this dilemma, from a soil perspective, is the ongoing addition of inocula and compost teas until we gain the upper hand. From a human health perspective, there is tremendous benefit in regular supplementation with probiotic products.

RADIONIC ANALYSIS
Radionics is an indispensable research tool when evaluating the relative merits of various foods and supplements. Radionics involves the premise that we live in a sea of vibrational energy. Every thing vibrates, including minerals, vitamins, microbes and every conceivable part of the human body.

General Vitality (GV) is the master measurement in this energy science and GV is the yardstick against which all other criteria are evaluated. If a subject had a GV of 500, for example, but calcium only measured 250, then we assume that this person has only half of the calcium that is required for good health. Radionic analysis is much more than a versatile measurement tool. Highly effective vibrational therapies can be developed involving the balancing and manipulation of these energy frequencies.

Radionics also offers the opportunity to measure the effect of foods and supplements on General Vitality (GV) by combining a subject’s hair sample with a given supplement in the same measuring well of a radionics instrument. The higher the increase in GV, the better the supplement.
During a comparative analysis of hundreds of nutrients, using this technique, we discovered a range of probiotic-based, fermented foods that were capable of lifting GV more dramatically than anything we have ever encountered. Alan Meyer, the Australian microbiologist who developed this remarkable range, has worked with beneficial gut organisms for over thirty-five years. We recognised from our research that, whenever beneficial flora is lacking, there is an associated shortage of nutrients.

The MEND™ (Microbially Enhanced Nutrient Delivery) concept appears just as valid in human health as it does in terms of plant health. Alan Meyer agreed to develop a unique range of ‘living foods’ for NTS, which will be marketed under the MEND™ banner. Three new MEND™ products are now available for human health and the feedback from our market research to date has been simply remarkable.

MEND Bio-Bubble™ contains huge numbers of over 200 strains of beneficial gut organisms, including acidophilus and bifidus (in live form). This is a fizzy, fermented liquid derived from the microbial digestion of eight organic cereal grains and several legumes including alfalfa and soybeans. This is essentially a ‘food’, so it does not require registration and it does not attract GST. However, this defence food offers probiotic support that is far more potent than many of the task-specific probiotics. Probiotics are proving to be a much more sustainable solution than antibioticsand their benefits extend far beyond their bio-balancing function. MEND Bio-Bubble™ retails at $23.95 per 2-Litre bottle, which equates to around three weeks supply based on a daily serving of 100 mL.
Our market research involving MEND Bio-Bubble™ suggests that there can be tremendous benefits associated with rebuilding the ‘microbe bridge’.

MEND DIGEST-EASE™

Digestive drugs and remedies are the basis of a huge industry that is entirely based on symptom management. The digestion drug Zantac, for example, is the largest selling drug in the history of mankind. The actual root cause of most digestive difficulties is a lack of the digestive enzymes that facilitate this natural bodily function. Digestive enzymes come from three main sources.

Raw vegetables and fruit are a major source but they must be eaten raw as their enzymes are destroyed by heat. The liver and pancreas manufacture digestive enzymes, but according to Sandra Cabot, author of the best-selling ‘The Liver Cleansing Diet’, a fully functioning liver has become a rare commodity.  The third and most important source of digestive enzymes are the beneficial gut organisms which inhabit the full length of the digestive tract from mouth to anus but proliferate in the large intestine. In many cases an enzyme-depleted diet of processed foods rains down upon a biological terrain sadly lacking in enzyme-producing organisms. A toxic liver contributes to the under supply of enzymes and the poor, overworked pancreas pumps in vain to compensate for the shortages.

MEND Digest-Ease™ is designed to address this major digestive crisis. A 450-gram container of powdered concentrate features a four-way management strategy:

1) It contains pre-digested amino acids and other nutrients.
2) It includes a rich lode of digestive enzymes including essentials like protease, amylase and lipase.
3) It contains massive numbers of enzyme-producing gut organisms with powerful probiotic potential.
4) This fermented food concentrate also contains pre-biotics, which are materials that enhance beneficial intestinal flora.

AMINO ACIDS

Our radionic analysis work in human health reveals major deficits of amino acids in the majority of subjects. This is largely related to poor digestion of proteins which are the raw materials for the aminos’s. Inadequate protein digestion results in the production of a dense sludge called mucoprotein which lines the gut walls and inhibits nutrient absorption. Amino acids are at least as important as minerals and vitamins for our health and happiness, but depressed enzyme activity limits their production while also contributing to mucoprotein layers which inhibit the availability of all other nutrients. MEND Digest-Ease™ contains luxury supplements of eighteen amino acids in a predigested form. These amino’s are derived from organic cereal grains and legumes that have been biologically processed with a unique fermentation process called FloraFerm™. The amino’s are immediately available to perform the multitude of important functions for which they are responsible.

ENZYMES

Recent research has highlighted the amazing enzyme-enhancing qualities of cereal grasses. Wheat grass bars are springing up in our major cities as people recognise the obvious benefits of a daily dose of enzymes.
MEND Digest-Ease™ involves the fermentation of wheat grass, barley grass and alfalfa grass. Upon completion of the biological digestion process, the liquid blend is dehydrated with a unique slow-drying process that protects both the enzyme component and the living organisms. The powdered concentrate, which emerges as the end product, features impressive enzyme diversity and contains excellent levels of key enzymes like protease – the missing link in protein digestion. The carbohydrate-digester amylase is present along with lipase, which is responsible for the digestion of fats.

BENEFICIAL GUT ORGANISMS

The smorgasbord of dormant digestive organisms in MEND Digest-Ease™ are re-activated forty minutes after ingestion. Lactic acid organisms like acidophilus, bifidus, delbruekii, caseii, bulgaricus, caucasicus, fermenti, plantarum, brevis, helveticus, leichmanii and lactis are combined with two beneficial yeasts called Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Saccharomyces boulardii in a proprietary blend which eclipses the worlds best. Many of these probiotic organisms are currently the focus of intensive research as they appear to be linked to a wide range of benefits ranging from immune support to enhanced longevity. If a mucoprotein nutrient barrier has developed through poor digestion, regular inoculations of MEND Digest-Ease™ can help to break down and remove this sludge to restore normal digestive function.

MEND Digest-Ease™INGREDIENTS: Organic Wholegrain Barley and Barley Grass Powder, Wheat Grass, Alfalfa Grass, Rye, Oats, Wheat, Maize, Brown Rice, Millet, Soy Beans, Linseed, Buckwheat, Mung Beans, Alfalfa, Soy Compound, Malt, Molasses, Fructose, Fresh Green Ginger, Fresh Lemon Juice, Green Barley Grass Powder
.

Over 200 Strains of Beneficial Organisms: Lactobacillus acidophilus, delbreukii, caseii, bulgaricus, caucasicus, fermenti, plantarum, brevis, helveticus, leichmannii, lactis, bifidus (Bifidobacterium bifidum), Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Saccharomyces boulardii.

PREBIOTICS

Probiotics are far more effective in the presence of a prebiotic – a substance which supports gut flora. The most well-documented prebiotic is a fibre material called fructooligosachharide (FOS), which has been shown to increase levels of key organisms like bifidus and acidophilus. MEND Digest-Ease™ contains FOS derived from organic whole rye and whole wheat. Not only are the new inductees supported and stimulated but existing organisms in the digestive tract are also fostered by the FOS fibre in MEND Digest-Ease™.

In summary, MEND Digest-Ease™ is a predigested source of much-needed amino’s and other nutrients including minerals, vitamins and fatty acids. It contains a rich suite of digestive enzymes and billions of the major organisms that deliver these enzymes.

This complete digestion package also supplies prebiotics to ensure the proliferation of the new digestive recruits. It can be combined with water or fruit juice at rates ranging from one teaspoon to two tablespoons, depending on the digestive problem. We recommend that these fermented foods should be combined with meals or other supplements to magnify nutrient uptake. At 10 grams per day, the 450-gram jar represents a six-week supply at a retail price of $54.95 (approx $1.25 per day).
