Dentistry – Mercury Poisoning

MERCURY

MERCURY – (Hg) is the most toxic (poisonous) element known to man  – except for the radioactive elements, which really don’t count when it comes to dentistry.   Most patients who have mercury poisoning do not have bodies that work efficiently.   This all goes back to understanding that it is really a person’s state of health that dictates how efficaciously the body will excrete mercury.

I urge you not to have your teeth or your kids’ teeth filled with amalgam fillings and to have your amalgam fillings removed as soon as you can by a dentist who knows how to do this safely..

Dr Eric Davis

Dr Davis is a pioneer in his field of dentistry.  His philosophy of treatment is Dental in conjunction with Nutrition Diagnostics, and his goal is to optimize the health of the patient through a total Dental Revision and are dedicated to getting consistently positive clinical results which do not presently appear to be available anywhere else. The Program is the culmination of nearly two decades of dedicated pioneering efforts in improving the health of people affected by dental mercury and other toxins such as dental infection and poor dietary and lifestyle choices.

If you have those ugly fillings in your teeth that range in color from silver to gray to black you are being poisoned by mercury ever since you got your first filling of this type – probably since childhood.

Dentists call these fillings amalgams, which according to the dictionary means a mixture of metals with mercury. All amalgam fillings are 52% mercury, with the remaining 48% comprised of a mixture of copper, silver, tin and zinc.

Mercury is a well-known neurotoxin.   The brain succumbs to mercury’s ravages more readily than other tissues.  Whole pockets of brain tissue are eroded by mercury’s ravages.     Worst hit are the brain’s visual, hearing, and equilibrium centres, thus explaining the effects of advanced mercury poisoning – blindness, deafness, and loss of balance.

This Picture indicates Mercury fumes

Mercury is particularly insidious because it’s fumes are invisible and odorless.

Elemental mercury vaporizes readily, even at room temperature. Lit by a conventional lamp, a vial of mercury throws a shadow at left; no fumes appear. Ultraviolet rays absorbed by mercury – outline the other silhouette, which show mercury vapor billowing from the vial.

Looking closely at the shadow, you will see the mercury coming through the side of the glass vial. With this reality how safe can a mercury thermometer be?

Mercury’s trademark, a jagged scrawl, testifies to a cinnabar (mercury ore) mine worker’s tremors, caused by years of breathing mercury vapor.  Asked by a doctor to trace over the smooth penciled waves, 48- year- old Jaun Prieto Soriana could not complete this simple task! Imagine your dentist’s fine muscle control after years of breathing mercury vapor!

Mercury is liquid at body temperature – an important fact we forget from chemistry. Although the fillings look as solid as the “Rock of Gibraltar”
,   when viewed under a microscope one can see “jillions” of globules of liquid mercury interspersed throughout the mass of the filling.

Just as all liquid evaporates, so does mercury yielding mercury vapor. There are instruments (such as a mercury vapor analyzer), which can measure this vapor even as it comes off the surface of your fillings – even while you are reading this information.

Some of the mercury vapor is swallowed with saliva (you swallow between 1,500 and 2,000 times every 24 hours) and some of the mercury vapor is inhaled as you breathe. It goes from your inhaled breath in to the alveolar air sacs of your lungs and from there into your bloodstream.

The mercury vapor also goes from the swallowed saliva into the villi of your intestines and from there into your bloodstream. The bottom line of all this is: if you have mercury fillings in your teeth you will have mercury in your blood stream. This means it can be delivered any place in your body. This is the main mechanism for poisoning you.

Dentists are taught that placing these fillings will be the backbone of their dental practice.  Dental school students were told that 85% of what they would be doing is to put these fillings in people’s teeth.  Of course, they were careful never to refer to the poisonous nature of mercury and when teaching this procedure,

Students trusted what they were being taught was dependable information, taught by trustworthy teachers!   This is why so many dentists can put these fillings in people’s teeth without a guilty conscience – they’re taught that it’s a safe thing to do.

LOS ANGELES: A class action lawsuit has been filed against dentists in the US claiming they have misled the public about the dangers of mercury in tooth fillings.

DETOXIFICATION

Once a person’s mercury fillings have been removed, a systemic detoxification for mercury needs to be carried out.   That’s because mercury attaches itself to protein molecules throughout the body and it does not leave by itself.

The mercury needs help in order to exit the body.   The goal of detoxification essentially is to excrete more mercury each day than one takes in.  The rate at which this can be accomplished depends upon the individual and how efficiently one’s body works.  In other words, it depends on how healthy the person is that’s doing the detox.

Dr Arikian uses CST and another healing tool which will fast tract the elimination of Mercury and other bacteria build-up in the Stomach, kidneys, Liver and mouth after dentistry work has been done.  This is done through non- invasive techniques.

The major organs of detoxification are the liver, the kidneys, and the skin. The liver is the major player in this scenario. One does not have a healthy liver unless one has a healthy colon.

Add to this burden the mercury from fillings and soon the liver can be overwhelmed and congested.

The liver dumps its toxic waste into the colon for removal from the body, in fact, 85% of the mercury ordinarily is excreted through the faeces.

If the colon is not healthy, particularly if one is constipated and incapable of moving the faeces efficiently out of the body, the mercury can be reabsorbed from the colon and recirculated back into the body.   This makes the detox process long, often difficult and frustrating.

The best way to get a colon healthy is to have colonics.  This, in turn, greatly assists the liver by allowing the liver to purge toxins so it won’t become overloaded with toxic waste.

The kidneys usually account for the other 15% of the body’s mercury excretion.  Mercury usually is complexed to large molecules when it is processed for excretion but the kidneys can’t handle molecules that are too large.

Many detox agents are referred to as chelating agents and are large molecules to begin with so this singles them out for liver processing.   When detoxing for mercury it is important to drink large amounts of pure water.

When neither the liver nor the kidneys are capable of handling all the mercury, the skin often is called on to excrete toxins through its pores.

This may cause rashes, itching, and eruptions such as zits since once the toxins escape through the pores of the skin they sit on the surface of the skin and act as an irritant, thus the itching and rashes, etc.

The mercury also can be reabsorbed back through the skin’s pores if it remains on the surface too long.   By this discussion it is easy to see that mercury detoxification can be quite problematic.

Exercise is helpful in detox since the mercury can leave through the pores of the skin and sweat glands when capillary beds, near the surface of the skin, are filled with the blood to try to cool the body during exercise.

Saunas can be helpful too, except never enter a sauna with mercury fillings in your teeth since the elevated temperature of the sauna radically increases the rate at which mercury escapes from the fillings and you get poisoned faster.

Anything you do to heat the fillings causes more mercury to come out.   This includes consuming hot liquids and foods as well as any activity that increases the temperature of the fillings such as gritting or grinding your teeth, having fillings polished, chewing gum or even brushing your teeth can add frictional heat to them and thus release mercury more rapidly. Smoking also has the same affect.

It is important to recognize that fish and seafood are the richest dietary source of mercury.  Therefore if your goal is to eliminate mercury from your body it makes little sense to increase your body’s burden of mercury by adding it to your diet.   There are many agents that can be useful or helpful in removing mercury from the body.

A cookbook detox protocol approach is often doomed to failure, or worse yet to disaster.   There is no “one- size-fits-all” approach for mercury detox.  However, Mercury’s favourite state in nature is to be combined with sulphur.  Many foods contain sulphur and can be somewhat beneficial when detoxing for mercury.  A partial listing of such foods includes:

  • Legumes
  • Broccoli
  • Cabbage
  • Brussel sprouts
  • Lentils
  • Peas

CST is also another way of detoxing, providing you have a good practitioner.

Cranio sacral and/or Reiki treatment will help the colon relax and evacuate more quickly.  We also use another healing tool which will help fast tract the elimination of Mercury and other bacteria build-up in the mouth after dentistry work has been done.  This is done through non- invasive techniques.

Dentists work with Mercury nearly all their lives.  As a group of professionals they have the highest rate of suicide as well as the highest rate of alcoholism and the highest rate of divorce.   All of which suggest emotional problems.

Mercury is a well-known and long- recognized neurotoxin.   Since the nervous system has two sides, both a physical as well as an emotional side, it is it any wonder that dentists exhibit neurological symptoms as they succumb to the ravages of mercury poisoning? Many believe that dentists are the mad hatters of the 20th and now the 21st century!

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland exhibited a trait common to many 19th century hat makers – incoherent speech. Working long hours with mercury treated pelts, they absorbed mercury through their skin and inhaled mercury vapor, which caused them to shake and to slur their words.

When mercury was discovered as the cause of their illness, mercury was eliminated in the process, and subsequent generation of hatters were no longer “mad”.
